Smithfield, RI, USA - On February 3rd, HPNE employees donned their best red apparel across departments in support of National Wear Red Day. Many of our on-site employees combatted the February chill by warming the space with a wide range of red shades.

National Wear Red Day, originally founded by the American Heart Association, is a day used to raise awareness of the risks of heart disease and stroke in women. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. In fact, according to the CDC, 1 out of every 5 deaths of a woman in the USA is due to heart disease.

In conjunction with wearing your favorite red clothing, National Wear Red Day is also an opportunity to support the American Heart Association by donating. Donations can be made at WearRedDay.org, and detailed instructions for donations can be found here

#TeamHPNE has also been involved in supporting multiple initiatives in the past year including wearing pink for breast cancer awareness month, and look forward to continuing to support the challenges facing the community through other such initiatives. At High Purity New England, we like to remember that our ultimate goal is to improve the lives of patients, whether that is through supporting our customers and their bioprocesses, or bringing awareness to illnesses through unifying exercises such as these.

Stay tuned for more community involvement initiatives we have planned throughout the year!
