A Look Back at 2023 with HPNE
As we approach the end of the year, we are reflecting on the important events that have helped HPNE maintain rapid growth in 2023.
2023 brought many new accomplishments for HPNE, from new distributor partnerships, to new product announcements and developments of our existing products. Although we are thrilled to reflect on the growth we have seen in 2023, we would also like to recognize that none of our accomplishments are possible without the continued support of our customers, our employees, and our distributors.
Here is a snapshot of what we were able to accomplish in 2023.
Expanding Our Products and Partnerships
New Product Launches in 2023
In 2023, we were proud to announce multiple partnerships, which have resulted in the expansion of our own product offerings, and expanded the range of global distribution of our own products.
Early this year, we were able to launch our new service FlexConnexx™, which provides a new approach to your single-use assembly production. With a dedicated team and cleanroom space, FlexConnexx™ decreases lead times on assembly production, and provides you with security and peace of mind when getting your products to market.
In addition to the launch of FlexConnexx™, we launched three new products this year. Firstly, we expanded our electric tug line from MasterMover to include the SM200+ Battery Powered Electric Tug, with capabilities to move up to 33,000 lbs with a single operator. We were later able to announce the Q-Drive-Alpha, our new product from Quantex, a PSG brand.
Building Relationships
By partnering with Custom Sensors & Technology (CST) this year, we were able to launch a range of new products that are the perfect solution to upgrading your process analytics, including the Process Flow Cell and Holder, Process Pressure Sensor, Conditioning Module, and line of PX2 Photometric Transmitters.
Finally, we not only announced our new Adherent Cell Expansion System CellScrew®, but also our partnership with its developer Green Elephant Biotech. We look forward to continuing our work with these brands in the future, and hope to have even more exciting new products to announce in the new year.
Alongside CST and Green Elephant, we were also thrilled to be able to announce partnerships with Fannin for distribution of HPNE products in Ireland, and Canada Clean Room (CCR) for distribution of HPConnexx and more in Canada.
Continuously Developing Flagship Products
We are grateful for the opportunity to have launched so many new products over the past year, and we also would like to recognize the advancements our engineering and R&D team has been able to make on our existing products. Our team consistently works to enhance all of the products we make in house to ensure we are providing the best solutions to our customers' bioprocessing challenges. They are also working to bring to market many new and exciting products in the 2024 year.
In our newest HPConnexx video, learn how our single-use assemblies have no minimum order quantities, fast lead times, and are brand agnostic.

Events From Both Sides of the Atlantic
2023 Local Trade Shows
Our team is grateful to have had the opportunity to attend multiple trade shows and other biotechnology related events throughout the year. At HPNE, we believe fostering close relationships with our customers in person at these events is crucial to gaining insight on the current issues plaguing the industry, allowing us to develop more effective solutions.
In September, our sales and marketing teams attended the ISPE Product Show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. More than 4,200 industry professionals were in attendance, and we were able to give an interactive experience and live demonstrations to interested individuals at our booth. Missed us this year? Make sure to keep an eye on registration and catch us at the ISPE Product Show in 2024!

Additionally, our Technical Product Manager Eddie Hannon attended multiple PATfix workshops for live demonstrations of PATfix Process Analytical Technology. Eddie also attended the three day mRNA Process Development & Manufacturing Summit to share how our Preparative Monolithic Chromatography Columns and Analytical Monolithic Chromatography Columns fit into the mRNA industry. Along with Eddie, Technical Product Managers Jane Longwell and Mike Giuliano attended the Vendor Showcase and Happy Hour Event hosted by The Engine in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Additional Trade Shows Across the Pond
At the end of 2023, our International Sales Manager Steve Bellanti met up with our distributors Fannin and BPES for various trade show events in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
With Fannin, Steve attended the Lab and Cleanroom Expo in Leopardstown and the ISPE Ireland Annual Conference and Gala Dinner. Shortly thereafter, Steve returned to the UK with CEO and Founder Mark Sitcoske to attend the bioProcessUK Conference in Brighton with the team at BPES. We are so grateful for the opportunity to support our international distributors in person, while sharing the benefits of our products with international markets.

2023 Community Events
One of the things we were most proud of in 2023 was hosting the first ever CGT Circle event in the Boston area. Held at Lamplighter Brewing Co., we were thrilled to have a fireside chat and networking event with panelists Francesca Vitelli, Bethany Grant, and host Nina Bauer. The panel was followed by time for networking. Following the positive feedback we received from the event, we hope to work with CGT Circle to host more events like this in the future!

On Manufacturing Day, members of our team also attended the POLARIS National Manufacturing Day Event, which aims to provide high school students with more information regarding pursuing a career in manufacturing. HPNE employees brought an example assembly, as well as our gowning equipment to allow students to get hands-on experience, simulating what it might be like to work in the cleanroom.
Expanding Our Team
In order to have a stronger presence in both the Greater Delaware Valley Region and Research Triangle Park, we have brought on multiple new, talented Technical Product Managers to further support those regions in unique ways.
Additionally, we were thrilled to welcome Will Thompson of BPES to our team as a Technical Sales Specialist of HPNE products for BPES in the United Kingdom. With the addition of Will as well as the previously mentioned new international partnerships, we also welcomed our new International Sales Manager to our sales team who will directly oversee all of our worldwide distributors.
Supporting the Community and Celebrating Employees
Involvement in the Community
At HPNE, we recognize that our success would not be possible without the support of our community. To honor this, HPNE participates in multiple community involvement events throughout 2023, including a local trash clean-up, company wide color days in honor of months like Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and welcoming guest speakers to talk to our staff about important topics like Mental Health Awareness Month.
We are also grateful to be in a position to make donations to the community, and have donated to organizations like the Jewish Community Center (JCC), Youth Pride, and the Gloria Gemma Foundation. Additionally, our employees have extended their generosity throughout the year with a cleaning supplies drive to support Sojourner House, a school supplies drive, a canned food drive for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, and participation in the Woonsocket Adopt-a-Family program.
Internal Events for our Employees
We are proud to have some of the most hardworking, knowledgeable professionals working at HPNE. Although it cannot even begin to repay the hard work our employees do throughout the year, we held multiple employee focused events throughout the year to celebrate their accomplishments and dedication to achieving our collective goals.
One event we held for our employees was a Halloween Decorating competition, where employees were encouraged to work together and decorate spaces around the office to compete for a prize. All employees could get involved by voting for their favorite space, and the office was festive with decorations.

HPNE also hosted various food trucks throughout 2023 as a way to support local business owners while also celebrating unique cultural experiences for months like AAPI, while also providing complimentary meals for our employees.
Looking Beyond 2023
Going into 2024, we have some exciting new product launches and other announcements on the way! We are excited to see what the new year brings, and hope to continue to deliver on our promise to deliver best-in-class solutions to all of your bioprocess challenges. Cheers to the new year!
