Our Second Annual 2022 Scholarship Winner
With the difficult decision of choosing just one art piece from this years’ incredible submissions, High Purity New England is ready to announce the winner of their Second Annual Scholarship.
Smithfield, Rhode Island - High Purity New England (HPNE) has announced the winners of their second annual ‘Art on the Wall’ scholarship competition – an art contest in which students from local Rhode Island schools create personal art pieces to express their own artistic creativity. This program was created to support students from neighboring high schools who are attending college or university in the upcoming fall semester. Since its success in 2021, it has become an annual event, one of the biotech company’s many initiatives to support the local community.
All 2022 graduating students of Smithfield, North Smithfield, Lincoln, North Providence and Cumberland high schools were invited to submit artwork that displayed both skill and creativity. Once all of the contest’s submissions had been accepted, the participants’ classmates, families and friends were then encouraged vote for their favorite art piece. The top 3 scholarship winners had the option of displaying their work in the hallways of HPNE, along with receiving prizes of amounts ranging up to $1,000.
This year, out of the top 10 submissions, the 3 winners of the ‘Art on the Wall’ scholarship were all students from Smithfield High School. HPNE’s first place winner was Madison Fitts. Their second-place winner was Emma Massoyan and their third-place winner was Katie Villandry. HPNE extends their gratitude to all of the participants for their unique pieces and wishes them well in their forthcoming year at college.
