How to Choose the Right Pressure & UV Measurement Solution for Your Bioprocess
Ensure accuracy in your process with our guide on pressure and UV measurement systems, compatible with both liquids & gases.
For an efficient bioprocess, it is critical to ensure you are choosing the right solutions for the job. Your sensors should provide accurate & clear measurements, and fit the parameters of the other equipment you are using. In this article, we discuss some sensor options for measuring pressure and UV in order to help you find the perfect sensor for your unique needs.
Single-Use Pressure Sensor
Compatible with gamma irradiation, our Single-Use Pressure Sensor from PendoTECH provides an unobstructed flow path. It provides accurate static and pressure measurement of both gases and liquids in your biopharmaceutical processes. They are manufactured in an ISO 13485 certified and FDA registered facility, with a Class 100,000 cleanroom.
It connects to monitors with a 12-foot reusable cable, and may be repeatedly cleaned and re-used. Providing dramatically reduced hold-up volume when compared to stainless steel transducers & gauges, it is available with diameters from 1/16 to 1 inch inner diameter. All fluid path materials of the Single-Use Pressure Sensor meet USP Class VI requirements.
Single-Use Pressure Sensor is Right for You if You…
- Need a pressure sensor with an operating range from -7 to 75 psi (-0.48 to 5.2 bar)
- Require accurate measurement of static and dynamic pressure of gases & liquids
- Want a pressure sensor that is multi-use and can easily be cleaned between uses
- Are looking for a sensor that meets all USP Class VI requirements
- Would like your sensors to be compatible with gamma irradiation
- Have applications across process development, diafiltration, virus filtration, TFF, chromatography, harvesting, monitoring of glass & disposable bioreactors, filling operations, and more
Single-Use In-Line UV Absorbance PhotoMeter
Achieve non-invasive measurement in your bioprocess operations with our Single-Use In-Line UV Absorbance PhotoMeter from PendoTECH. With a compact photometer and fiber optic cables, the sensor allows you to measure UV absorbance in both filtration and chromatography applications.
Data is collected by the sensor from the bioprocess fluid streams during processing, meaning there is less disruption to operations compared to measurement that needs to be taken off-line. Both single-use and stainless steel, reusable flow cell options are available, and a dual wavelength unit is available for increased versatility.
Single-Use In-Line UV Absorbance PhotoMeter is Right for You if You…
- Need to take two different measurements with one flow cell, ranging from 280-880nm
- Require single-use or multi-use UV sensor technology
- Are looking for a non-invasive UV measurement tool
- Want to collect data from bioprocess fluid streams during processing
- Have applications across virus filtration, research, process development, sterile filtration, perfusion, harvesting, diafiltration, chromatography, and more
PendoTECH Turbidity Photometer
Featuring a convenient, compact design, our Turbidity Photometer from PendoTECH is a photometer light source/detector equipped with fiber optic cables and an 880nm light source. It is designed to be integrated with a monitor with data acquisition capability, and a control system via its transmitter function.
The front panel of the Photometer features fiber optic connections, a tare button, and a power switch, while the back features output signals on a D25 connector. The raw output of the transmitter is a milliamp (mA) signal, which is scaled from 0 to 3 Absorption Units (AU).
PendoTECH Turbidity Photometer is Right for You if You…
- Need a raw reading of your photometer in 0 to 3 absorption units (AUs)
- Want to integrate your photometer with an external monitor or control system
- Would like to utilize fiber optic connections in your process
- Require a compact turbidity photometer to fit conveniently in your space
- Have applications across diafiltration, TFF, process development, research, nano filtration, harvesting, fill and finish, virus filtration, and more
PressureMAT Sensor Monitor
Available in a variety of configurations, our Pressure MAT Sensor Monitor is the perfect accessory to our Single-Use Pressure Sensor. It seamlessly combines a monitor, alarm, and transmitter in a single device in order to help you accurately measure pressure. Sensor feedback is instantaneous, and the monitor features data output capabilities to a PC or other control system.
A panel mount option is available with a IP66/NEMA4X front panel. Our Pressure MAT Sensor Monitor has a range of regulatory approvals, including CE and UL. Users can configure the minimum and maximum set points.
PressureMAT Sensor Monitor is Right for You if You…
- Want 10x the accuracy of a standard unit for low pressure applications
- Already have the PendoTECH Pressure Sensor incorporated into your process
- Are looking for a sensor monitor with an easy-to-read LCD screen
- Need a lightweight, portable sensor monitor unit in your process that is available to be panel mounted
- Have applications across virus filtration, perfusion, nano filtration, process development, chromatography, harvesting, fill and finish, and more
