Job Summary:

In this integral part of HPNE’s Engineering team, the Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for electrical and mechanical assemblies. The EMA is responsible for building HPNE products such as pump systems, carts, mixer carts and other custom designed products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Read instructions such as work orders, models, assembly drawings, schematics and wire run lists to determine materials needed and the sequence of assembly
• Perform basic, standardized, and repetitive assembly operations and labeling of components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies
• Assemble standard products and components into complete assemblies and kits per specs
• Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies
• Handle tools, materials, and components as required, and arrange workstation effectively
• Arrange wire or tubing as shown on prints and wire run lists or harness boards, cut wire or tubing to correct length, wrap and tie wires or tubes into specific bundles per ADM’s standard
• Terminate wires or tubes either by soldering connections, crimping or direct termination
• Follow work instructions and test procedures and complete checklists
• Test and troubleshoot assemblies
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve material or documentation discrepancies
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Special Projects Engineering Manager for the overall benefit of the organization

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in assembly or similar field
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience with reading specifications, schematics, diagrams and mechanical prints
• Experience with using electrical troubleshooting devices
• Experience with using hand tools such as files, wire strippers, screw drivers, crimping tools, hand saws, tubing benders and punches. May also be required to operate more complex machines such as hand drills, drill presses, electric saws, and soldering irons
• Preferred experience in circuit continuity tests, leak tests or other simple electronic tests
• Proficient in MS Office

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in an open engineering area/lab that can be loud
