Job Description

At High Purity New England, the Design Engineer is an integral part of our business. The Design
Engineer creates and develops technical drawings and designs. In this position, the Design
Engineer will work closely the other engineers and other key stakeholders – Production,
Quality, Sales and Material departments. The Design Engineer will also review specifications,
conduct peer reviews, and review other information that is essential in developing client
specific drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for partnering with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Teams
in the design, implementation, and validation of new processes to manufacture high
quality medical devices and custom single use assemblies
• Utilizes a variety of tools to continuously improve existing manufacturing while
acting as an innovator in the areas of Lean Manufacturing Processes
• Works to standardize manufacturing processes and put appropriate work
instructions in place to ensure proper build
• Ensure project timelines are met and KPI’s are reached
• Conduct testing, measuring and research for functionality and capability of new
product design and development

Qualifications

• High level of SolidWorks aptitude and experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• SolidWorks certificate a plus
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
• Must be self-motivated and a great team player
• 2-5 years of experience working in engineering
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems
and products
• SolidWorks visualize proficiency and experience a plus

 

Physical Requirements:

• Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and move around the facilities
• Majority of this job is sedentary, primarily
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds
